Clarence Charles ADAMS was born on 24 February 1921 in Barre, Washington, Vermont. He died on 22 August 2015 at the age of 94 at Heaton Woods Assisted Living Home in Montpelier, Vermont, United States. BARRE - Clarence Charles Adams passed away on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at Heaton Woods Assisted Living Home in Montpelier at the age of 94.

Born Feb. 24, 1921, in Barre City, he was the son of Hattie Webster Adams and Charles Adams. He graduated from Spaulding High School in 1939.

After graduation, he worked for Howard's Market, Perry Auto and FD Ladd Company. Clarence was drafted into the U.S. Army on Sept. 17, 1942, and served in the Pacific Theater. He fought on Guam, Leyte, and Okinawa where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a communication sergeant.

Clarence married Lorraine Weir on May 25, 1946. They made their home in Barre and had four daughters.

After the war, he worked at Alan's as an office machine repairman, later becoming service manager, manager of the store and president of the corporation.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine, and daughters Linda, married to Lyn Lyon, of Bedford, Pennsylvania, Marcia, married to Peter Syrett, of Canton, New York, Janice, married to Michael Braley, of Derry, New Hampshire, and Debra, married to Frank Zoltanski, of Robbinsville, New Jersey. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Brian Syrett, Melissa Lipari, Christopher and Alyssa Braley, and Alex and Ava Zoltanski; and five great- grandchildren, Dominik, Noah and Ruby Lipari, and Luke and Gretta Syrett.

Besides his parents, an older brother, Lester Adams, predeceased him.

There will be a private graveside service for immediate family only with military honors at the Williamstown Village Cemetery on Sunday, Aug. 30, officiated by Pastor Kim Kie of Hedding United Methodist Church. A celebration of life reception for family and friends will be held at Hedding United Methodist Church in Barre from 3 to 5 p.m. that afternoon.
